Duties of Authors

1. Reporting Standards

Authors should present an accurate, objective, and comprehensive account of the research conducted, along with a clear discussion of its significance. Research findings must be reported honestly without fabrication, falsification, inappropriate data manipulation, or misleading interpretation.

Manuscripts should contain sufficient methodological details, data descriptions, and relevant references to enable other researchers to evaluate and replicate the study. Fraudulent or knowingly inaccurate statements constitute unethical publishing behavior and are unacceptable.

Authors must comply with the manuscript preparation and submission guidelines established by Jurnal Penelitian Kesehatan.

2. Originality and Plagiarism

Authors must ensure that their manuscripts represent entirely original work and are free from plagiarism.

Any ideas, data, statements, methods, or findings obtained from other sources must be appropriately acknowledged and cited.

Plagiarism, unattributed text reuse, and inappropriate duplication of previously published work are considered serious violations of publication ethics.

The editorial team reserves the right to conduct similarity checks using plagiarism detection software and to investigate manuscripts suspected of containing unethical content.

3. Multiple, Redundant, or Concurrent Publications

Authors should not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously.

Submitting identical or substantially similar manuscripts to multiple journals constitutes unethical publishing behavior and is unacceptable.

Authors should not publish redundant manuscripts describing essentially the same research findings without appropriate justification, disclosure, and acknowledgment of the original publication.

When multiple publications arise from a single research project, the relationship between the publications must be clearly disclosed, and relevant previous publications must be appropriately cited.

4. Acknowledgement of Sources

Authors must properly acknowledge all sources of information, data, theories, methods, and scientific publications that have contributed to their research.

References should be relevant, reliable, and accurately cited to support the scientific arguments presented in the manuscript.

Authors are encouraged to prioritize primary research sources, particularly recent peer-reviewed scientific articles relevant to the subject of the study.

5. Authorship of the Paper

Authorship should accurately reflect the contributions of individuals involved in the research and preparation of the manuscript.

Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made substantial contributions to the conception or design of the study, data collection or analysis, interpretation of findings, or critical preparation and revision of the manuscript, and who have approved the final version and accepted responsibility for their contributions.

Individuals who have provided technical, administrative, or other assistance but do not meet the criteria for authorship should be acknowledged in the Acknowledgements section.

The corresponding author is responsible for ensuring that all listed authors have reviewed and approved the submitted manuscript and agreed to its publication.

Any changes to authorship during the publication process must be supported by a reasonable explanation and the consent of all authors concerned.

6. Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest

All authors must disclose any financial, professional, institutional, or personal relationships that could potentially influence the research findings or their interpretation.

Sources of research funding, sponsorship, grants, or other forms of financial support must be clearly acknowledged.

When no conflicts of interest exist, authors are encouraged to include a statement declaring the absence of any conflicts of interest.

7. Fundamental Errors in Published Works

When authors discover significant errors or inaccuracies in their submitted or published manuscripts, they must promptly notify the journal editor.

Authors are expected to cooperate with the editorial team in correcting, clarifying, or retracting the article when necessary.

Appropriate corrective actions will be determined based on the nature and severity of the errors and their potential impact on the validity and integrity of the published research.

8. Ethical Considerations for Human and Animal Research

Research involving human participants or animals must comply with applicable ethical principles, institutional requirements, and relevant regulations.

For studies requiring ethical approval, authors must obtain approval from an authorized research ethics committee and provide the relevant ethical approval information in the manuscript.

Research involving patients or human participants must respect informed consent, confidentiality, privacy, personal data protection, and participant safety.

Authors must also clearly identify any unusual hazards associated with chemicals, procedures, or equipment used in the research.

Duties of Editors

1. Publication Decisions

Editors are responsible for deciding which submitted manuscripts should be accepted, revised, or rejected based on scientific quality, originality, relevance to the journal's scope, and peer-review recommendations.

Editorial decisions must be guided by the validity and significance of the research and its potential contribution to scientific knowledge.

Editors must also consider applicable legal requirements concerning copyright infringement, plagiarism, defamation, and other publication-related matters.

The final publication decision rests with the responsible editor and must remain independent of personal, financial, or institutional interests.

2. Review of Manuscripts

Editors must ensure that every submitted manuscript undergoes an initial evaluation to assess its originality, relevance, completeness, and compliance with the journal's submission requirements.

Manuscripts that meet the initial editorial criteria should be assigned to qualified reviewers with appropriate expertise in the relevant field.

Editors are responsible for managing the peer-review process fairly, objectively, and efficiently in accordance with the journal's established review policies.

Reviewers should be selected based on their academic competence and independence, while potential conflicts of interest must be carefully considered.

3. Fair Play

Editors must evaluate manuscripts solely on their intellectual and scientific merit without discrimination based on gender, race, religion, nationality, citizenship, institutional affiliation, or other personal characteristics of the authors.

Editorial decisions must uphold fairness, impartiality, academic independence, and professional integrity throughout the publication process.

4. Confidentiality

Editors must maintain the confidentiality of all manuscripts and information obtained during the editorial and peer-review processes.

Information concerning submitted manuscripts should only be disclosed to individuals directly involved in the publication process, including authors, reviewers, and authorized editorial personnel.

Editors must also protect confidential research data, patient information, participant identities, and other sensitive information contained in submitted manuscripts.

5. Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest

Editors must not use unpublished materials, research data, or ideas contained in submitted manuscripts for their own research or personal benefit without the authors' written consent.

Editors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest involving a manuscript and should not participate in editorial decisions when such conflicts may compromise their impartiality.

When necessary, responsibility for handling the manuscript should be transferred to another independent editor.

Duties of Reviewers

1. Confidentiality

Reviewers must treat all manuscripts received for review as confidential documents.

Manuscripts must not be shared, reproduced, disclosed, or discussed with other individuals without prior authorization from the editor.

Reviewers must not use unpublished information, data, or ideas obtained through the peer-review process for personal or professional advantage.

2. Acknowledgement of Sources

Reviewers should assess whether authors have appropriately acknowledged relevant scientific literature and other sources used in their research.

Reviewers should identify important published work that has not been cited and recommend additional references when necessary to strengthen the manuscript.

If reviewers identify suspected plagiarism, duplicate publication, data manipulation, or other ethical irregularities, they must promptly and confidentially notify the editor.

Reviewers should not independently investigate suspected misconduct unless specifically requested by the editorial team.

3. Standards of Objectivity

Peer reviews must be conducted objectively, professionally, and constructively.

Reviewers should provide clear, evidence-based comments and recommendations that help authors improve the scientific quality of their manuscripts.

Personal criticism, discriminatory remarks, or comments unrelated to the scientific content of the manuscript are unacceptable.

Reviewers should evaluate the relevance of the research topic, originality, methodological quality, validity of findings, interpretation of results, conclusions, and appropriateness of references.

4. Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest

Reviewers must disclose any potential conflicts of interest arising from personal, professional, institutional, financial, or collaborative relationships with the authors or organizations associated with the manuscript.

Reviewers should decline review assignments when such conflicts may compromise their ability to provide an impartial assessment.

Confidential information obtained through peer review must not be used for personal gain or to benefit other parties.

5. Promptness

Reviewers should complete their evaluations within the timeframe established or mutually agreed upon with the editorial team.

If reviewers are unable to complete the review within the specified period, they must promptly notify the editor so that appropriate arrangements can be made.

Reviewers should accept review invitations only when they possess the necessary expertise and sufficient time to provide a thorough and constructive evaluation.
